I bought this y-block distributor a while back. It does not have any distributor breaker plate(s). I am having a hard time finding the correct breaker plate(s) for this distributor.

Just to let you know that this distributor B9FA-12127-A is not the same as B9AF-12127-A. The B9AF distributor has 2 flat sort of semi-circular plates (upper and lower). The part nos. for these distributor plates are B9AF-12151-A and B9AF-12151-B. The lower plate is attached to the distributor bowl with 2 screws. The inside of the bowl has 2 "threaded lobes" that the screws seat into holding the plate inside the bowl.

The distributor B9FA-12127-A does not have the 2 threaded lobes inside the bowl. It only has a ridge/ledge along the inside bottom of the bowl. This ridge/ledge is located somewhat below the distributor weights attached to the upper cam so that I think the breaker plate has to be dome-shaped. I do not know how it is held in place.
Does anyone know anything about this B9FA-12127-A distributor? Does it have 2 plates as most other yblock distributors. What are the part nos. of breaker plates.

Sounds like that distributor uses the ball bearing advance plate, B7A-12151-A, made by New Departure company They are held in place by two clips held in place by screws, 180 degrees apart through the housing wall. The plates have not been available for years.

You might find one on Ebay. Also check some of the companies that specialize in obsolete Ford parts.

I have the opportunity to buy a Ford NOS B7A-12151-A distributor plate for $18.00 plus shipping. It is dome shaped with a pivot pin on top. The under side has 10-12 ball bearings. Are the clips and screws that holds the plate in place available? Is there another plate that fits on top of this plate and would you know the Ford part number? I paid $10.00 for the distributor and it is in excellent condition and the plate is NOS and also in excellent condition. If I can locate the clips and screws to hold it in place as well as the upper plate if there is one, I would go ahead and buy B7A-12151-A plate. Are there any other parts required to complete the distributor?

If you do not have the vacuum advance unit these are very hard to find.
