Hello Everyone,

I have a 1955 Ford Crown Victoria. The electric clock does not work. Can anybody recommend a good clock repair shop? Please provide a address and telephone number if possible.

Thanks,

Ray

Do you want the clock fixed or the radio?

I know I mess up the post. I am looking for a good place to send off my clock to get it repaired.

Thanks,

Ry

Ray, a lot of times theproblem with a clock is gummed up gears, springs and other parts ofthe mechanism. My car has the wind up stye and wasn't working when Igot the car. I soaked the back of the clock in rubbing alcohol overnight and now it works good well.

FYI, your clock. I'm assuming it is 6 volt? And is you car 6v Or 12v conversion?
You might check in Hemmings.

I have found it is tough to get an analog clock to keep decent time. I tried many different methods to get one to operate. I also tried quartz conversion but didn't like it because of its action, analog old school is more fun, just like vacuum windshield wipers!
Mine (6 v) runs fine (with 2 resistors) on a 12v system.
However, it is totally unacceptable as a clock! I have finally quit obsessing with it and am just content to have it running with a sweep second hand. If I really care about accurate time, I look at my iphone! Just my 2 cents.

What is exactly wrong with it? Mine had two problems. First the clock spring was broken. I replaced it from a parts clock. The other was the rewinder. It only needed a little adjustment on the ratchet foot to get it to catch.
I did all this myself for less than $20.

I got great service from Jerry at The Clockworks when he rebuilt my t-bird clock. I think he does other Ford clocks as well.

I had two clocks converted to quartz by Williamson's in Arkansas. Did a great job and the cost was less that many other guys.

They also do restorations of stock clocks.
