Hi guys i need some help.
I have fitted an MSD pro billet 8383 dizzy and blaster 2 coil to replace the old Load-O-Matic and std. coil. I have converted the carb being its a teapot for a short term, followed Ted's directions. I'll try to up load photo's.

My concern is that it won't run with the ballast resistor, yet quite well bypassed!     usual runs with start yet not key on.
Do I bypass or get the .8 ohms resistor???
There are so many options with coils and ignition systems these days I'm just not sure.

Based on the diagram in the instructions, it looks like no resistor is used.

No resistor is needed, mine has been running flawlessly for about three years. Great setup.

The ballast resistor was used to reduce voltage to the points to 9 volts in the run position.  This was to save on point burning and is not needed for the MSD mag pickup.

Thanks for the reply.
The Dizzy instructions showed directly, bypassing the ballast yet I wanted to be sure.
I guess what confused me was the coil directions showed it in the circuitry and I didn't want to burn out the pick up etc.
One of the guys from work told me as you guys have, too.

Much better engine already, I actually have an idle.
How about advance stops, springs and timing. I know they like a 10-12* BTDC base timing and I remember something about 38* max advance
It has a mild cam, 2500-5800rpm
