I bought a gasket set on ebay and the pickup tube seals were not included and I was wondering if I could use a thick o ring to substitute. Unfortunetly I found out later that the rol gasket set was cheaply made set or does any one know where I can get the right seals for the tube thanks.

I’m guessing you're talking about the copper washer that goes on the outside of the pan under the oil pickup tube nut at the side of the pan? If the gasket set came with a compressable washer for the oil drain plug, then that can possibly be used as an alternative. A rubber O ring can be potentially used but needs to be a thin one so the chances of it ‘tearing’ upon tightening when bottoming out the large nut at the oil pan is minimized. Some lubricant on the O ring can help prevent any 'grabbing' that the nut has on the O ring and reduce the tearing action that results. A thin film of RTV under the nut can also head off any potential oil leaks in this area.If you're talking about the O ring for the oil pump itself, just give me a shout as I have some extras of those.
