The clutch spring that goes on the fork that goes in to the bell housing was missing so from the hole on the fork from the bell housing where does the other end hook to thanks

Timmy,There is supposed to be a U-shaped bracket with a hole in it for the spring to hook into held onto a stud with a nut .I cant tell from parts book where exactly the bracket is bolted to.Maybe the cross shaft bracket on bellhousing?Someone with a stnd trans will tell for sure.Just gives an idea of what is supposed to be there.My 56 is an auto so cant look under the hood for answer!

  

The one on my 56 tbird hooks to a small square bracket with a hole in it on one of the oil pump bolts.
