Per your problem, we need a little more information. It looks like you installed quite a few new parts and like Mike says above, you are probably needing spark. We all know what we need... air (compressed), fuel, and spark. As long as the timing of the spark event is correct, she will fire. Was the engine running before you installed a new distributor, coil, carburetor, battery, spark plugs, plug wires, etc? When you say there is no filter on it, it sounds like this is an engine you are trying to get going for the first time.
By the way, if you are sure you have spark one of the most common mistakes people make is to put the firing order of the spark plug wires backwards in rotation on the cap. The firing order goes counterclockwise on the distributor cap. (don't ask me how I know that is a common mistake!
