There is some test data around for a "homemade" penetrating fluid that has worked pretty well when I've tried it. It's a 50/50 mix of acetone and ATF. My wif gets the larger size acetone at her favorite nail-polish counter and we split. She takes half and I fill the rest of the container up with ATF. I obliterate the label to avoid embarrassing remarks from garage visitors............ We stirred some up at work to release some rusty stuff (worked well) - and the safety man made us get rid of it.... "improperly labeled".

Leave the label. It's more fun that way.

i have used a simpler mix,my 48ford f47 sat in dawson creek in the rain and snow, this mix worked miracles on this project when trying to dismantle(these old trucks used a million nuts and bolts that where stuck) just a great idea i got off this site.
