I let my 4 yr old son "help" me work on my car. It is a 58 fairlane with a 292. In the process he got into my nuts container and i am missing one of the pal nuts that go on the connecting rods. Does anyone have suggestions on replacements for the pal nuts? I called Mummerts and he didnt have any any suggestions you all have tried or did would be awsome. In talking to a local mechanic he said these used to be used alot on tractors and most of them just got pitched is this a posibility?

Andy, i think the pal nuts are a thing of the past, no other engines run them as a method of locking the nuts and if you think of it once the rod bolt is torqued down properly, the nut wont just run off. i,m sure one of the members may post you a few if still going that way. regards aussie bill.
