How can I determine the axel ratio of my 1955 T-Bird? The axel shaft has - 03029A. 44-1 on it.

Rotate a tire and count the number of drive shaft revolutions.

You might already know, but the ratios for 55 Birds are as follows:
  3 speed  3.73 (410 optional?) 3 speed O/D  3.92 Automatic  3.31
If you have an open (non-posi) rear, then mark the yoke and ONE tire (keep the other tire from rotating) and turn the ONE tire two full turns while counting the revolutions the yoke rotates-this is your ratio
Simply put, positraction,  you turn both tires one full turn, non positraction, turn one tire two full turns.
