This is what I've been up to the past few days.  Since I've installed a fuel cell under the bed, the stock tank is no longer needed.  So I removed the tank and smoothed the hole.

I did it in a way that should make it easy to return to original if that wacky idea ever comes about.  Hopefully the filler doesn't crack.

I used seam sealer on the back side. 

I'm finding that I like body modification much more than body repair.  Now back to the tedious task of floor pan replacement.

I'm going to be working on it to the last minute again.  This floor pan is taking much longer than I had planned.  I think I'm finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel of that project.  My bell housing is at Mummert's, being modified for the T5.  I'm sending my driveshaft out tomorrow so that I can get it back soon after I have the measurements.  The T5 has to be mounted in order for me to make the bucket seat mount.  The same mount will hold a center console so I have to make sure ithe mount will clear the shifter but the console will not be made until some time after Columbus.  Seat belts have to be installed.  A coolant catch can as to be installed.  I have to figure out whats going on with the flat spot when the secondaries open.  The only other thing I want to do is install a new wire harness.  As the harness is not vital to making it to Columbus, I may cross that off the to do list.  Last year during my attempt to make it the engine temperature was rising quickly above 3000RPM.  I haven't taken a look at that so that will have to be addressed but with the T5 and overdrive I may be able to get around that temporarily.  That shouldn't prevent the truck from showing.  If anything it means it will take a few hours longer to get there.

I'm going to try to bring the truck this year!

What, me worry? Chucks never been ready for Columbus but I like to bring a new mystery every year. Why won't that thing run!

I have everything hooked up now and am having the driveshaft made. Tranny mount should be in tomorrow. Lokar shift rod worked great, lots of adjustment. Soon! It's been a long summer without cruising. Chuck in NH

Charlie your doing a great job. I look forward to seeing it at Columbus. May not have my bird done for the trip but I am really really close. Just tons of details and of course the ultimate test drive to work out other bugs.

I got a call from John yesterday. The bell housing is ready! It should be here next week. I should have the transmission mounted before the end of the month. I don't think I'll have time to have the MR2 seats recovered with a more period looking design but they will go in after the transmission is in. I think I'll have the critical stuff ready to go by the 9th. But the time I think things will be ready never seems to coincide with reality. I have a feeling I'll be working on it up to the Wednesday night before I have to leave. I would like to be able to put a few miles on all of this new stuff before leaving to avoid a failure similar to last year.
