Any of you guys running Red's headers on your Y? My only issue with them is the space between the center tubes. The space is so small that you can't get a wrench in between them to tighten the bolt. I've been using the stock manifold bolts. Is there an ARP bolt or stud or something that you guys use to get the proper torque on the bolts? This exhaust leak is driving me crazy.
  Thanks, David

I have Red's Passenger Dual Tube Headers on my 56 Customline and have had quite a few compliments on them. I use "Stage 8" fasteners for the header bolts. They o have a hex head, but also an Allen wrench center so you can torque them that way. The Stage 8 fasteners will not loosen up through the heat and cool cycles of the motor.

The thread is standard 3/8 coarse thread.  I bought a set of header bolts for some other engine with a 5/16 head.  I don't have the application handy now.  The minimum length you would want is probably about 7/8"

ARP bolts are the best for strength, but if you want a header bolt that won't back off, I think that the Stage 8 Locking fasteners are the way to go.
