Well my speedometer cable just broke today. Is a 56 Ford 3 speed manual. I was surprised to find that I couldn't just go to NAPA and have them hand over a universal speedometer cable. Back in the day you just go a cable with one end on it and you put the cable in and then cut it and then put the other end on it. What does one do now days to fix a speedometer cable? I didn't even see them listed on the net .. ?Ermm

The part number is not listed on their online site, so maybe the in store computer doesn't list it either.  The part number, if I remember correctly, is (was) 46390.  You might call NAPA and ask if that is still a good number.  If so, they can still get it.

thanks, that's what I need. I don't need the whole cable and housing. This whole thing is crazy. I don't know if Advance or those kind of parts houses would have them or not .. I did one on my Miata and had to change the whole thing .. Goofy!

I suppose the demand for speedometer cables is pretty low, the OEM have been using electronic speedos for some time now.

NAPA does have the cable kit. You may have to get them to order it from their warehouse. Balkamp part no. 615-1797. NAPAWally
