John, Aod is being a stubborn pig! I had the pressure set but they couldn't make it shift to 3d. I fiddled with the TV cable and got 3d and overdriver but it seemed to freewheel a lot and the shifts weren't quite right. THEN, after a short test drive the 600 carb started flooding. Since I had rebuilt a 450 Holley I put it on. Same sort of flooding problem. May have been related to the 9lbs of non adjustable fuel pressure but? So I took my old 600 vacume secondary off the shelf and put it on. Runs fine now?? Problem, while changing carbs the TV linkage changed detent. Now I run in 1st gear only with no up shift just freewheels when I let off. Tried adjusting the TV cable but no luck yet. I picked up a pressure gauge and am going to check that out. If it ever stops raining!
If that dosen't work, the old FOM is going back in. I have everything for it except the tube is trashed. I used an old 57 Ford shaft to have the new one made to I have the old driveshaft and all. I may have to rig up the shift linkage but I think the Lokar kit will do it. It's kind of sad. I really liked the way the old girl took off with the AOD seems pretty strong for a change. I'm sure the new motor will be better with the FOM but I had high hopes!
Thanks, Chuck in NH
