I found a higher ratio rear end for my '56 Victoria from one of the members here on y-blocks forever. Doing some research to find out what my current ratio is (V-8 automatic as originally purchased) there was a statement made on another website that the '56 exclusively had fine spline for their axle shafts. I have never heard such a thing before. I made a call to a knowledgeable friend and he said that statement is "hogwash".
OK, guys. I know you know the answer. Does the '56 have different splines on their axles?

A 56 with an automatic usually had a 3.31 rear ratio. Check the shop manual.
