I have to replace the rod and main bearings in my 56 Merc.  The engine is in the car.  
As I look for the bearings, I find prices from $160.00 from JEG,S to $800.00 at another site.  
Does anyone have experience purchasing bearings from other sites.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks Larry

As of 2/3/25, Summit has the rod bearings (Sealed Power 82000CPA) for $100 per set and the main bearings (Sealed Power 884M) priced at $122 per set.  Prices can get lower than this depending upon shop discounts and/or engine rebuilder warehouse prices.

What about quality? Would I be spending money unnecessarily by buying Clevite main bearings?
