Just curious if there are any Y-Blockers near Windsor Locks Connecticut?  I will be spending a week there Nov 17 to 21st, taking a course for work, and it would be fun to swap Y-Block stories over a beer! Let me know, thanks.

Hartford is about 5 hours from me, I don't know where Windsor locks is to Hartford though. Chuck would probably be 2-3 hours from Hartford I would suspect.

AH ya! Of Kause!  You have to root for the Pats too. After you PAHK the CAHHH. remember to ask for a soda or a Frappe if you want a milkshake. Not sure when they quit speaking English up there. Was before I was stationed in New London in the early 60's though.

It's funny how people don't realize what they sound like until they leave their backyard. I remember way back in the dark ages I was at Lackland for basic training, someone asked if I had a dime. I reached in my pocket and said "no, all I have is a kwater". They looked at me funny and said "You mean a quarter?" Yep, a kwater. This of course led to the whole soda vs pop, frappe vs milkshake, grinder vs sub discussion. I never said kwater again, and I still laugh when I hear other folks say it.

It is, but it's also amazing how quickly we pick up enough of the local dialect when we're living there. Took me twenty years to learn to say park after Ct. Then I moved to Fla for a couple years, that's another story. One of the things I dislike about TV is it's destroying all the regional sounds, we're losing something there. Kinda like another piece of 20th century America is gone. I was amazed at how popular Country music is in New England. We always think of NE as Boston or Vermont, has to be one or the other.
