hey guys i went to a local boneyard yesterday that has been in opperation for at least 50 years and they have a couple of 57-58 ford   and i have a few questions on what will and wont fit from them on mine i hope someone can help

first they have a 57 2 door ranch wagon im hoping since it has the sedan doors that most of the stuff fits as far as the front windhield and the trim inner and outer it also has the little stainless pieces that sit above the vent window (i guess they are so you can have the window open while its raining)  does anyone know how to remove these?  and will the sunvisor pivots fit my sedan?

next they have a 58 4 door wagon  will the window trim and things fit my 57?

and they have a 57 fairlane 500 4 door  again will the trim from it fit mine(windshield/rear window)

and they have a 57 sedan that i know the stuff will fit its just curious that it has a 57 desoto front  bumper and grille bolted on it

these poor cars have been sitting in this yard long enough for large trees to grow up around them and in some cases through them  and they are pretty much just sources for trim and glass now they have some incredible cars in this lot that are just rotten junk its a shame i did take a few pic of the cars yesterday  i can post them if youd like to see them i have alot of other pics from this yard but they are all non digital  thanks for all your help  Wink

Interchange of some of those parts you describe depends on what model series your car is? Windshields from Fairlane series cars do not interchange with the Custom series, which includes wagons & sedan deliveries. And I think the same is true of the rear window. Some of the trim may fit either series, but mostly they don't. The trim pieces at the bottom of the windshield & rear window are locked into the lower seal, so removing the window is likely necessary. The vent Window rain deflector on a hardtop should be removable by screws from the top, but I'm not sure on a sedan door. Hope this info helps?

thanks paul ,

my car is a 70A by the way i just figured mine being a sedan and one of the wagons being a 2 door (with sedan type doors )would mean the trim /glass would interchange the windows are allready out of mine and  im  wanting to get the glass outof 2 of the cars in the yard for mine and the glass is broken in the other 2 cars so removing the trim wouldnt be a big deal
