Hey Guys, Is anyone aware of a cross reference manual that will list parts that will interchange from Ford models and model years, say parts that will fit a 55 Fairlane 272 and will work on a customline as well? Haven't been successful on the net yet if one exist.
Claim to fame is the car was used as an extra in the movie Diner with Micky Rourke, Steve Gootenburg, Paul Riser and Kevin Bacon.

Its called Auto Interchange Systems 1950-65 Ford Products Interchange Manual. You can get it on Amazon .com for about 30 bucks.

Just going to offer a couple of suggestions. On Ebay right now is the CD version of what Earl has.Item #220303009911.Just be sure your computer has the required program to use this CD.For my 56 Fairlane I purchased a CD by Detroit Iron that has parts catalogue(body and mechanical),shop manual(very handy and you won't get grease on it),owners manual,a/c manual,Fordomatic manual, and a few other goodies.Motorbooks.com has it for $36.00 but it is available from several sources.Go to Detroit Iron website and it lists dealers for this CD.The parts catalogue is very handy for exploded diagrams and it will give original part #s for cross reference in the interchange manual.Parts books are kind of my hobby.I was in Ford parts dept for about 10 years and my Dad was in it for about 30.I have 55-56 Ford catalogues(still looking for the hard to find soft trim book) in paper form but use the CD for reference. If you are looking for replacement parts or just want to know whats available I would recomend getting a catalogue from Concours Auto in Nevada,Dennis Carpenter.com and Tee-Bird.com.These are free in USA I believe and can be ordered on their respective websites.Interesting reading.Anything I can help with let me know.

I went to Amazon.com & tried for 20 minutes to zero in on it, then dialed in auto interchange, also without success. Can someone give a computer dummy a steer on this? Thanks!

Just went to amazon and it appears they are out of stock. Abe Books used to have them but they too are out. Best bet is Marks suggestion.
