I am installing a 292 from a 1964 1/2 ton pickup into a 1955 f-100.  When removing the dipstick bracket which bolts to the upper side bolt boss used for car applications anti freeze ran out of the hole. I suspect that at some point in time someone put a bolt which was too long in the boss.  My question is, does this render the block useless?

It's been running that way, so I would say put sealer on that bolt and go ahead and use it.
