I looked in techical section to find an answer to this question and did not find one. Do all Y-Blocks with a mechanical fuel pump use the same amount of pressure in the fuel line to the carb and if so, what is the correct pressure?

I don’t know about the pressure for the pumps, but in general a carbureted engine should run 4-7 psi anything more the carburetor’s float will stay open and thus causing problem with the carburetor running right because you will be forcing fuel threw the carburetor. Fuel injected cars very but are much higher 25-50 I believe and run a return line back to the tank so they the pumps don’t burn up. Hope that helps.

The fuel pressure spec for the Y is rather broad in that it’s 3½-5½ PSI so technically any of the Y-Block fuel pumps should interchange with most carb combinations without much issue.  With an electric fuel pump and modern carb on a Y, I’ll aim for 6-6½ PSI for both the street and performance but less is not a show stopper if volume is adequate.
