That block has seen lots of dampness at best. Every surface is rusted including the mains. Definitely needs an overbore. Unless it has been magnafluxed, which is unlikely, how do you know it isn't cracked? As for boring it .125 thou, I don't know of any guru that would recommend that.. The bids were at $500 when I looked, no way it's worth $1000.

I sold a nice 312 (.030 usable bore) for $150, boy did I get screwed. 
it was a few years ago they must have gone up in value.
