Anyone with a Hollanders manuel Tell me what front spindles these are( I guessing '75-'80 Granada with power disc brakes) Drivers side--D208AE with the #76 below them, Passenger side--#85 above D20A7AE . I'm buying a new power rack/pinion system from Tom Drummond out of Rockton,IL. for my '57 Courier and he ships '57 outter tie rod ends with kit but don't know if they'll work with these spindles?(some of ID#'s were blurred but as close as I can see with these old eyes) Thank you for all help possible! Tom, He has a listing on Ebay(250382275568)showing the rack/pinion kit for the '57 Ford. Says he knows Hoosier Hurricane and John Gambill and attends the Y-Block Shootouts. Also is on "57FordsForever.com(check out members rides in gallery section) and in the forum in For Sale section under "Wildhog". Or---- Tom Drummond--13638 Annulet Dr.--Rockton,Il.,61072 Phone#815-871-8017--E-mail bulldog57@charter.net. I'm sending off for one Monday,Tom said it take about 5 to 7 days by parcel post or 3 by rush shipment depending on how you want to pay for shipping($41 by p.p. to SoCal). Talked to him by phone, nice guy and knows what he's talking about!Hope to have mine installed by end of month, let everyone know how it works out--good or bad! KID

Did you ask the vendor about turning radius with the rack? Some of the ones on the market limit the radius (makes wider turns) to more than stock. Some people have said they would never do it again.

Thanks, Paul.

I contacted the vendor this PM after the above post.  Just read his answer and replied with a couple of questions including decreased turning radius.

Tom,  The R/P on my car was improperly installed, they welded a bracket(which I call a what the hell bracket) to the bottem of the engine crossmember then mounted the rack below it with outer tierod ends going up to the spindles at a 45 degree angle! So turning left out of the driveway no problem, but turn right and I go clear across the centerline back into my lane! Again, not properly installed so I can't say how it would turn if it was right.(Digger puts his head up with that webcam I got him)If I started out with a stock system I'd put power disc brakes on,good shocks, and a good alignment and switch to a rebuilt '58 steering box and column. On the side I'd look into adapting a 605 or the new 567 power steering box to a stock '57 pump and reservoir. So I'll install Drummond's system by end of the month and see if it's worth it or not.
