I'm tied between a few styles of air cleaners... i'm going to paint the engine gold, black valve covers, might paint the ford letters too. Of course all the frontal accessories will be black. I think I would like to go with a black air cleaner...

NOW... What kind should i go with

I've found myself attracted to the milhorn scoop style, butterfly blower style, batwing style, etc.... 100's to choose from. Would love to see some pics and get some opinion...

Hi Apache

When I got my car it came with a shiny chrome Summit air cleaner...didn't look right.  I found a mid 50's Caddy batwing that looked great and fits on my 4 bbl nicely.  A couple of points though, the 4 inch air cleaner element is too tall for the hood so I got a thinner one,  and for my Fairlane, the hood latch pin just tics the cleaner a little bit as the back side of the cleaner is square not round.  If you want to buy one I paid $60.  They are on Ebay for about $140 for buy it now.  Make sure you get a metal one, there are some plastic ones out there.

One from a '57 T-Bird looks proper and it's an open element.  If the cost is an issue just buy the top and the bottom can be a generic one purchased from a place like Summit.
