I have removed the front spindles and disc brakes from a 1977 Granada.Is it possible to use the P/S components?Seems the idler arm and pitman are different?Any help would be appreciated.Thanks!

To use the Granada Drag link, you need to make a 1/2-1" spacer for the idler arm to frame bracket.to get full radius in steering.

You should be able to run any diameter wheel you choose   The diameter of the wheel is not the critical factor.  The overall diameter of the tire, and the correct offset is the deciding factor.

I have used 17x7 with 4.5 backspace and a 245/45/17 tire.   Check the front of the lower control arm with full turn, as a little clearancing with a grinder on the lower lip of the control arm is the only place I have noticed any interferance with big hoops.

I currently use 18x8 on the front with 4 3/4 backspace and 245/40/18 tire and it fits good too. If you get really low in the front, the fender lip can be rolled or flattened slightly.

Thanks Pat.I've been trying to use  17" wheels off a 2003 mustang GT,( kind of look like the old torque thrust)but the offset is way off.Tried using wheel spacers,but still hits the upper control arm/ball joint.But now i know what to get.Thanks again!

Is there a steering gear that will fit that does'nt have to use the p/s cylinder?

Search for Mustang/Cougar box discussion on this forum. You have to cut your shaft but the box only requires drilling 1 hole. Their PS box is also a slave unit but quicker steering ratio. Our host, Jim can chime in here too he was the source of my information on the subject. Chuck in NH
