Almost got this thing ('57 272 2bbl carb, vac wiper motor(rebuilt and works) and new fuel pump) sorted out...
Starts, runs... but I'm puzzled over exactly where and how to make sure these vac lines are hooked up so that they are right:
-vac wiper motor has a port toward the top of the unit and another coming straight out the bottom,
-fuel pump has two ports topside, one marked "wiper"... one port "blows", one "sucks"...
-intake man. has a port that was originally hooked up to the top port on the wiper motor...
I want to replace all the rubber hose with 1/4 steel tubing but can't quite figure out all the connections...
When I got the car, it had a fuel pump w/no vac ports on it, now with the new one, I have the two ports mentioned above, one which "blows" out and the other that "sucks" in...
Apologies ahead of time if this has previously been covered or if this is just too simple to take seriously... I will understand either way!
One more thing, is approx 70 lbs too much oil pressure? I'm thinking between 40 and 60 is more appropriate, in fact, on first start up after rebuild, I had 40-50... now I'm getting near 70 consistently...??
thanks, Mark
