1988-93 Mustang V-8 5 speeds required.

You gotta have the right tools and know how to use 'em.

Just adding to the T5 list, any T5 from 1984 mustang - tbird -etc to 1993 , 4cyl, 8 cyl , the only difference is pilot bear size is a little smaller and 1/4 inch longer, on 4 cyl. trannies, I have switched them back and fourth ,without and problems. Back in the day, 4cyl.  ones were usaully in better shape when you find them, I still have a bunch.

Use the V-8 trans as it has a better torque rating, the one I'm using is the '89 mustang World Class T-5 rated at 300 ft/lbs of torque. The more the torque rating the more you can get on it without breaking it such as the Z rated T-5 from Ford which is rated at 330 ft/lbs of torque, you can find the Z-rated from Ford or Jegs for $1200 to $1400 brand new or $700 -$1000 rebuilt T-5 with the Z kit parts installed. Also the V-8 T-5 comes in to gear ratios---3:35 1st-1:99 2nd-1:32 3rd-1:00 4th-.68 5th or 2:95 1st-1.94 2nd-1:34 3rd-1:00 4th-.63 5th! So check your motors torque rating, rearend gears, and cars overall weight for choice. Also check Ebay or Craigslist for used or rebuilt T-5's forsale and save a few $'s. KID
