Hi,  Like Chuck said your local auto parts store should have the 7" halogens in stock.  I got a pair, the number on the box is H6024 and they fit in place of the old 6014 sealed beams.  It does help, at least with my old eyes.

Just to be asking the question - have you checked to see what voltage you are actually getting at the lights? By the time the juice goes from the charging system to the light switch, through the contacts - and back to the front of the car through the dimmer switch and out to the (sometimes crusty) three prong plug at the bulbs - the new high amp lights usually won't have a prayer.

This photo shows a set of relays being installed on a 56 - so that the power is being directed by the smaller wiring harness - but delivered by (fused) #12 wire right off the alternator.

Even the old lights are bright when they get the right amount of power. Because this system is pretty powerful, I've also tried out putting a diode and switch across the dimmer - so that when you want mega power, both the dims and high beams are switched on together as "driving lights". It will make those BMW's with the "blue lights" back off a bit..........even with the common halogen sealed beams.
