what is difference between EBU and ECZ main caps? I know one is 292 and the other is 312  when ID of a block is an issue. Is it just a diameter difference?

ECZ is the 312 cap, bigger dia. mains.  Journal is 2.624" (2 5/8")  Housing bore is 2.816"  Wink
