Is the plugging of holes at the rocker arm support to pressurize the shaft worth doing, or is it just an urban legend? It's not a big job to do it, but does it do any good. Opinions?

I've done it both ways. If the oil passages are clean throughout and the shafts cleaned you should have plenty oil flowing without blocking the stands. Also some of the oil return in the stand goes down to the cam. How's your oil pumping as it is? Chuck

MoonShadow. I don't know yet, because this engine has not been fired after I bought it. It was stuck by water and sand been in a couple of cylinders for years. So I opened it, did some cleaning and it is now almost ready for the heads to be installed. It's a '62 TE with steel crank and will be running with two Garrett turbos that will take their own amount of oil of the whole oil capacity.

Sounds like you need a high volume oil pump to keep up with the Turbo's anyway. If you have the space and old circle track trick was to weld a couple of oil filter canisters to the side of the pan to allow more quarts of oil in the pan. Strange but it worked. We used to mount them on the passenger (right) side because we were always turning left anyway. You can also put a SBF external oil filter adapter on your block and run lines through the Turbo's (along with an external filter and cooler if needed). Chuck
