Ok, I see many kits, lot's of money. Brackets & bearing adapters available by themselves also.
I get the jist.. 80's f-150 2wd rotors, proportioning valve of some sort, bearing adapters, 80's big car gm calipers, & for me with the vac. issues that I was experiencing, & might with a larger cam some day manual master from a 60's vette.
I would like to know what worked & what you would do differently. Charlie, I recall you have been up & down this road quite a bit with your truck... Give me some info.

I bought a kit from ECI. They recommended a 1 1/8 bore cylinder. I needed one that had the ports on the drivers side so that the lines would not interfere with the removal of the valve cover. The master cylinder of a late 60s vette is the only one I found that satisfied these requirements. I have since changed to a 1" bore mc which is more appropriate for manual brakes. There are many options for 1" bore MC's if you want to keep it ford. I used the GM cylinder because I already had the adapter in place and I'm not sure where I put the original. I don't think power brakes are necessary. There is a feel that I prefer with a non assisted system. You might be different.

I have a master cylinder from CPP...probably the easiest bolt-on I have done on my '60. They can configure for disc/drum, disc/disc, and drum/drum...they come ready to bolt on, and your stock pedal pushrod hooks right up. It's really a beautiful thing... I've had it on their for 5-6 years, no problems.

FWIW: I bought a complete CPP kit (minus MC) for a straight axle Ford truck off e-bay a couple of months ago for $339 and that included shipping. I'm not sure you can do it any cheaper by collecting the parts yourself, when you consider the time, gas, local sales tax, etc. Don't know if CPP still has the kits on e-bay but it would be worth a look.

Speedway is a great place to do business with. They even have people that can/will talk to you if you have questions.
