I've just bought a new (grooved) cam from John M for my 55 Bird and am just about to install it but have now read on another site that if fitting this improved oiler I should replace the stock bearing with a later (57-64) bearing. Is this really essential? Thanks Richard

As long as the bearings are in good shape and the holes on the center one are clear so as to feed the head you should be OK!

Thanks Tim. Big relief as we plan to get the cam in tomorrow and parts to the UK are taking anything up to two weeks at the moment. Cheers Richard

A Herald? Wow I never knew these were exported to the states. Can't be many of 'em over there. Richard
