hey guys its been while since i posted any thing the 272 has been running more then great with me took the truck on the freeway a few weeks ago and loved the drive the motor ran great i was looking at the spark in the distributor and noticed its kinda small is there anything i can do to make sure im getting a great spark with out burning up my points

I'm not sure what you mean by looking at the spark in your distributor. I may be missing the whole point. If you are looking at the spark you have at the points, that is merely the spark from switching the circuit. About the only thing you can do to make points last longer is to use ventilated points to keep them cooler.
