Didn't post before because I'm not familiar w/ the 435,,,the large truck bells have two bolt patterns,,,,,older NP's shift rails interfere w/ the bell. When I got my 600 the bell had been torched for clearance,,,it had cracked & had to replace it. now have a Clark OD 5 speed.

Glanced at the t-98 bolt layout while under the black rat today, & noticed that the NP 435 that I picked up has the 4 bolts in a alomost the same layout on each side. The t-98 has two that are close together top to bottom on the passenger side. Looks almost like the bell would need the same mods as it would for a t-5. Hardly worth it, as I would rather have the t-5 if I am going to mod the bell. Can anyone specify if there are multiple truck bells with different bolt patters? This pic from John's site is of a different bell than the one I have in the truck. I have a second one laying around that I need to verify if it is like the one pictured here or if it is like the one currently on the f-250 black rat.
Btw, here's some pics of the trucks in the garage. Thank god for wheel dollys, which allow me to roll the rear of the stake bed withing a 1/4" of the wall to make more room to park the second truck and still do small jobs!

There are at least two different patterns for the trucks.

From what I've been told, the New Process was an option in 1964 (maybe 63 also). It requires a special bellhousing. The bellhousing in the picture you posted is for a 3-speed truck. The T-98 4-speed used a different bell. The NP is another style.

Thanks John. Looks as though unless I luck onto the bell of an optioned truck I will stay with the t-98 if the donar diffs agree gearing wise.
