Guys, hope you dont think i,m on here too often, but i live and breathe this stuff and like to share it from other side of the pond. I just got hold of some 1968 Aust hot rod mags as i was there in that era , cars and places etc, so is bit of a time capsule for me, 4th childhood perhaps, anyhow there is nice y block hotrod with nicest shaped set of chromed headers on cover.

Below from 68 magazine is unusual combination of y block coupled directly to early diff, it was in a show car as a hearse with the engine inside the glassed area, bit like a Barris car of the era, i doubt it would be drivable and i cant remember seeing it, different!!

Below from 68 hot rod mags is nice yblock in hotrod with unusual valve covers.

Below is without doubt the nicest y block rail ever built, it belonged to good friend Bert Jones, he was natures gentleman, a mentor to everyone that he met and is dearly missed. I will get round to his storey one day when the mood suits me, but the rail is a tribute to his  talents, while not the fastest in its day, 312 tripower, was a delight to watch run, it put a rod through the block and with work commitments, bert never got back to it, he was responsible for being the brains behind the most winning, race cars, boats, dragsters, and anything with an engine, he was the foremost Cam grinder here until passing in 2000.

I, for one, would love to read the story of Jones. We don't get much info on the "down under" scene except from you guys.

We ALWAYS enjoy Lon at EXPO, (except Lynne's better lookin!)

ditto on the salutes from the other fellas! Bill - some of us young guns out here in the states (that's the 35 and under crowd) need to be educated on all of this. Great material!
