I have a large input toploader out of a 429 Torinio that I want to go through before installing it in my '57 Bird. Toploader Heaven and David Kee Toploaders are options I am looking at. Either one better than the other or is there another source I may want to check out. Looking at complete kit and instructions.

Hi, I'm sure either of the two suppliers you mentioned are fine. I rebuilt my toploader about 5 years ago and it works great. I bought from Mark at Toploader Heaven in Oklahoma because he furnishes excellent instructions with photos. It was supplied on a CD and I couldn't get it to print on my computer, so I took it to a local Kinko Copy shop and they printed it out for me. He is also very helpful if you have questions. His parts are excellent also, heavy duty ball bearings, etc. Without the instructions, I would probably still be trying to put it together. Good luck, Nick Brann - K.C., MO

Both of these suppliers are very good. I used Toploader heaven to rebuild my toploader in my 67 mustang. The kit he sold me was excellent. I had never rebuilt a tranny before and had no problems at all. The pictures on the cd were very good. I printed them all and put them in a 3 ring binder and then made any other notes I needed to keep track of the project. He also sells a few home made tools that really do help with the process. He had all the parts I needed and was always willing to talk on the phone. Good Luck Rex
