I'm new, but have a question about a block cast # of ceby6015 by the distributor -- does it have a date code?

Was this block used as a replacement part (short block)

Should there be (or are there) any date codes or casting #s on the front crank damper?  or the timing case cover?

This will help us build a history and in reassembly of the 55 Tbird.

CEBY is a Canadian 272 block originally. It could have been bored out to a 292 size.

On the front of the block drivers side just below the parting line of the cylinder head and the block there should be some letters and numbers stamped on the block. This would tell us the year and car that the engine originally was installed in.
