I keep a watchful eye out on ebay for all manner of stuff. Its just a 55 -56 single carb intake with additional flange each end, i made many years ago before edelbrocks were accesable here, looks nice.

Bill, You've spoilt all my fun. Out of interest when you made these what was done to the porting planes either end did you drill through or was a tube added. Nothing beats necessity. I won't swap my 553 for it. Although for a little bit I though I had a find

Although for a little bit I though I had a find There were a few adaptions of these, some i had as high riser with 2" long tubes and spacer on center one, drilled through, back then it was just a way of having 3 carbs, not as technical as today. These are other make early aussie intakes.

Yes, I have been working my way through some of the older posts there before. I have seen your pictures of what manifolds were available in Australia. Some very good information there. I found the tests that Ted did on the 3x2 manifolds. I thought interesting that the 573 got within 10hp of a BT with a 600. It would be good to see the same done with some Demon 98's. Did Ted ever get to testing the 2x4's? I guess the thing is that today you could build a y block with a mix of new technology and some old school parts. Best of both worlds and have a y block that kept it's own with other small blocks.

Yes, we are all greatfull to ted, john and many others for all their input regarding performance products, testing and evaluating so that you can have a ready made formula of parts to produce a strong y block for most occassions.
