this may be an old topic but i have my 272 pulled out and am installing my new g heads and a new cam (from mummert)and new 57 4v intake and a new dizzy  and was wondering what is the easiest way to get these little buggers out i have the engine on a stand and rotated upside down i have pulled the old cam already the oil pan is removed already also because i am regasketing the complete motor .

If you turn it right side up they will fall out.They will only come out and be reinstalled from the bottom.

I've installed then with a magnet on a long rod and use a "grab-all" to help position them.
