Hi

I have a 54 Mercury with a later 312 Y-Block in it

Currently it has Thunderbird Alloy valve covers, but I have found some steel ones with the Mercury type on them

Does anyone know what the original colour would have been for the Valve Covers?

Thanks

Did a little poking around on the IMOA website and it seems that your block and valve covers should be a light green. It also appears that Bill Hirsh has the paint. The MERCURY letters were a contrasting color on the 55 and 56's don't know about the 54's.

Pete
