Y-Guys:     Little more help from the xperts, please? The only gasket I find

in my gasket set(Best) that fits my distributor is a cone shape rubber

one about 1/4" thick. Is this correct?

                                    Thx in advance,

The "early" distributors dont use any seal or gasket.Metal to metal. Many of the "later" distributors have an "O" ring on the lower body but there is a recess for that reason.Dont use a gasket where it is not required as it changes the the gear mesh between the distributor gear and the cam gear.

The cone gasket is the seal used with the rear engine draft tubes that are in the valley cover.
