Y-Guys: I installed an Isky bumpstick 3000 mi ago and on my way from B'ham to Knoxville for the F100 deal, The exh valve on # 5 started to "grow". I've bottomed out the adjustment and it kept getting larger.... My son said I've probably started loosing a "lobe". Any ideas before I tear into it ??? ('60 292engine) Thx Bill

Your son's probably right; cam lobe wiping out. Have you been using oil or oil additives with ZDDP?

Bill; Lets hope "vicky" is on the right track. If your rocker adjusters are the one piece interference fit type, not the "jamb nut" style, you may well have one that is no longer holding it's set. After multiple adjustments this problem can come up. If it's the problem, you will have to replace the adjuster. Check with Rocker Arm specialties, John Mummert Y-Block or Schumann Sales for new adjusters or a Rocker Arm. Also at one time adjusters were available with oversize threads.
