hey dropped, a ECG-A could be either a 256 or a 272 in 55. check the stroke, 256=3.10, 272= 3.30, bore is thy same, 3.625 is std.

What car, or truck, used a 256 in 1955? I thought it was a one year only engine for the 1954 Mercury.

I believe that in 1955 trucks up to f600 were available with the 256 engine.

I did a quick measurement of bore & stroke, it measured out to a little over 273 cubic inches so I'm pretty sure it's a 272
