The 352 casting is found on 390's. You probably have a 390. Chuck in NH

  c1flyout-

I seem to recall reading all FE motors (352,360,332,390etc) were stamped with that 352 and it had nothing to do with the displacement although I don't recall the reason for that particular number being on the FE blocks.

My Ford reference books show nothing smaller than a 390 being offered in the T Bird in 1963. The T Bird engines all carried a name like Thunderbird V8,Thunderbird Special,Thunderbird High Performance or something to that effect.

My guess would be it probably is a 390.

Good luck with your "new" car.

My 390s have the 352 on them as well which is common. The 63 bird should without a dought have a 390 in it.

You give several numbers.  What were the numbers on the block?  If you can clarify the locations of the various numbers, that may help.  If you look directly under the oil filter pad, the date code for the block will be located there.

The 9425 "B" (4bbl) is a manifold number, the c3ae designates it is a 63 auto engine.

I have a 62 Galaxie that had 390 decals on it but believed to be 352. I was told the oil pan is shaped different, and if a freeze plug is removed there is an identification mark in there.
