Just for fun, I'll take some pics of mine later tonight and post them so you can see what the "stock" wire looks like.

brodie is correct ,   If they used a kit ,   as from Fat Man ,  you have a  u-joint and you will be unable to run the wire up the center of the shaft.   I had the same problem ....istalled a button under the dash .....think about it...how often go ypu use the horn.......Good  Luck...Sam

The steering column is still the original; I'm sorry - but I'm a very visual creature. Can someone provide me with a picture showing the horn wire coming out of the steering column / steering box so I can find it on my car ?

Deeply appreciated because I already know the horn relay is wired incorrectly Connections are left horn (yellow w/green), right horn (yellow w/ green), and blue wire to column (not connected to anything); No power attachment. 

A horn connection should be really simple - power, horns, ground connection to steering.

I had a shop replace my engine; They also pulled out the steering column & installed a rack & pinion setup for me. Unfortunatley they disconnected the wiring from the bottom of the steering column & cut a bunch of wires when they reinstalled the original column. I'm left with a horn that doesn't work and an installer that is over 1,500 miles away.

Can someone provide me with some closeups of a '56 steering column within the engine bay highlighting which wires are for the horn connection so I can try to reconnect wires so I can go beep-beep ? I think the wiring harness is original even though not every wire connects to something. I do not want to install an under-dash button & hot-wire it to the horn relay.
