This the fourth time I've tried to post this tonight.The short story is Rotella T 15-40 still has 1200ppm of ZDDP in it.Use with confidence. Rep estimated the formula could change in approx 3 years.

Mike, located in the Siskiyou mountains, Southern, OR 292 powered 1946 Ford 1/2 ton, '62 Mercury Meteor, '55 Country Squire (parting out), '64 Falcon, '54 Ford 600 tractor.

 Well, I was the one concerned they (Shell) might soon be changing the formula (or might have already changed it) without notifying the public. But low sulpher diesel fuel and additives to new diesels seems to be the momentary fix for cleaner diesel exhaust.

  Having worked for the Federal guvmint for 30 years I'm just a little bit suspicious sometimes.

  But not to worry, the sky is not falling, at least not at this time.

I have friend's who highly recommended Brad Penn oil for my 312 Y block I'm building.  I found a shop who builds racing engines that was a Brad Penn dealer and I just received my shipment of 6 qt's of 30 wt. break-in oil and 6 qts of 10W30 semi synthetic oil for after the break-in.  It's specs show 1500 ppm Zinc and 1340-1400 ppm Phosphorus.  Here's a website where you can check it out.  http://www.penngrade1.com/

If you are questioning your oil I would strongly suggest using Joe Gibbs racing oils.  I use them in my 292 y-block because they are formulated for flat tappet cams and hot rod engines that don't get run regularly.  I run a 15w-50 in mine.  Go to there web site or call their tech support is great.

In my OHVs I order Valvoline VR-1 10W30 by the case from Amazon with free shipping. Still about 4-5 dollars a quart.

I know you can't save them all, but I'm tryin anyway!

Mobil 1 also has varying levels of zddp.
