Todd, tell us some more about the '61. Those are really rare.
The reader's digest version is:
My great uncle Lloyd special-ordered the car in late '60 with the hottest engine/trans combo available, as was his typical approach. He never failed to mention how pissed he was about them starting to offer the 3x2 and 4-speed dealer options afer he took delivery. Sort of surprised it never had a 4-speed cut in. The car currently has a 361 Edsel (FE) in it but still has the long tube manifolds, etc..., and the original Hi-po engine is in his old ski boat which I'm still trying to nail down.
The old chrome revers wheels were in the trunk (REAL reversed wheels, with stems on the inside) and all (5) of the 15" Kelsey-Hayes steelies were in the house with the original hubcaps...Really an unmolested car with virtually no rust. Still remains registered after all these years with black CA plates, with matching veterans CA plate key chain.
The plan is a stock appearing '61 Starliner with more power with a hot FE...I'll keep you guys updated, and maybe we can just pretend it has a Y-block in it, like my F-100
