Son of a b!7(h! I went to get it, and the truck was gone! So hopefully some other person I told about it got it, otherwise, another one is gone forever.
Last weekend I did get the 2v intake, distributor, and oil pan. My plan was to hold them for ransom, i.e. a crank if someone got the motor. Yeah, like that would work.

So it's not a total loss. I found a '62 Mercury Meteor today with a Y. I got the carburetor, distributor, dual exhaust manifolds, and oil pump.
It has a B9AE block and C0AE heads, 2v intake. So the engine seems to have been swapped, if they have the year right. I was just checking block numbers on mummert's site and it looks like B9AE could be a 312. Maybe I'll go pull the pan tomorrow. I'm busy tomorrow with some steel for a workbench I'm going to build, though. Does anyone know what the VIN would be for a 312 in a 59-62 Mercury? To get the pan off, it will need to have #1 at tdc, right?
This air cleaner housing was in the car. I can't find the lid. I don't know if it is correct but it did have a Ford label on it. Is this valuable? I don't need it to take up space unless I can turn around and sell it easily. It looks like it is in pretty good condition
