Has anyone used the Vintage Air Brackets to install a one wire GM Alternator and Air Condition Condensor on a Y-Block installed in a 56 Ford F-100? If I am installing it correctly, it appears the condensor bracket mounts to the block using the same bolts as the front motor mount. With the front motor mount installed, the condensor will not bolt up without intereferring with the front motor mount. I am thinking the front motor mount must be ground out and modified to work, or side motor mounts must be used instead of the original front motor mount in this application. Would like to know if anyone else has came across this and what alternatives I have.

In a sedan setup you must grind the the front steady rest. This isn't an issue on cars as it takes no weight. May be an issue with the integrity of the pickup mounts but I am sure there are lots of effies with air con fitted with no problem.

The instructions that come with my setup staed that some grinding of the rest may be necessary.

Thanks Rick. I am hoping to at least use the front mount to locate the engine in its correct location then fab up a transmission crossmember for an AOD. Once I have the engine it, I am considering installing engine block to frame rails to stabilize the engine movement side to side. In my other post about engine mounts, I questioned a two point mount system (front engine mount and transmission tail shaft mount) verses a three point mount system (front motor mount and one mount on each side of the bell housing, or, one mount on each side of the engine block to frame rails and one mount on the tail shaft of the transmission). Getting lots of information and feed back. Got to love this forum! Thanks again.
