How many Customlines out there? Here's mine. A style I wanted when I was a young hotrodder (mumble years ago!). Now I got it and she's fine. Tuck & Roll, 312 with 3 dueces, stock 3 spd., 3.10 rear (8" from 57). Concessions for cruisin": air and p/s and XM for the oldies. Lovin' it and cruizin' weekly. Got my sweetheart alongside in the bench and hittin' the malt shop (Sonics) on Saturday night. It don't get no better'n this!

Bob:

Sweet ride.  Customline victorias must be rare.  There was one about 2 miles from me a couple years ago, the guy was on the fence about selling it, it was supposed to be his daughter's car, but she wasn't interested in an old car.  It's no longer in his attached garage, but he has another garage behind the house.  I've never been in that garage and you can't see into it from the road.  He does have a '55 Fairlane vicky out front, it's been for sale a long time.  He has developed health problems that prevent his working on cars anymore.

1956 Customline Victoria hardtop coupe production is listed as 33130 cars in my reference guide.  I also had one of these early on and have many fond memories of this one as it's the first car I actually built for dragstrip duty.

Good lookin' Vicky.  Love the deep blue.  Noticed a custom dash, can you elaborate on it?  Pics?

Basically, we cut out the inside of a regular 56 dash leaving an edge wide enough to attach a homemade aluminum plate with cutouts to match a set of TPI gauges. The aluminum was engine turned. All gauges are electronic, and small led's were used for turn signals, hi-beam and over-speed indicators. Ganged wiring plugs were used so that the dash plate could be removed in one piece without having to detach the individual gauges. The dash I cut was from a different car thus the contrasting color to the main dash panel. I plan to bring the engine turning across the whole dash just covering the flat area where the radio and knobs are and having the top of the dash upholstered. She's a work in progress, but then we all know they are never finished. Right?

Arent the Customline Fords low end car? No frills with limited options? Not sure about the Victoria mid-year introduction but it sounds like Ford. Chuck
