Hey Guys,I'm finally assembling my 292 and have a few questions as to the cam gear installation.well,the cam is in and am trying to figure out the order of assembly of the spacers gear and fuel pump obcentric. I have it in the follwing order: small ungrooved spacer,gear,obcentric,keyed spacer washer,bolt..no dice the obcentric is loose like I'm missing a part. I took this apart a year ago and one of my buddies lost my motors manual.Any help would be great!

I found another obcentric assembly that was still in the order of removal in the corner of the garage from another engine and copied it.Just having a little fun with my post lol.

When talking about that first washer or spacer that sandwiches between the cam and the cam gear, there are two things to watch for.  First the washer should only be 0.004”-0.006” thicker than the thrust plate.  This difference determines the camshaft end play.  The second thing to watch for is the chamfer on the ID of the washer.  This chamfer is only on one side of the spacer and must be facing the camshaft or rearward.  If the ID chamfer is facing forward, then there’s a good possibility that the washer will not fit flush on the face of the camshaft and will create a situation where there will be too much camshaft end play.  That will cause other problems once the engine is running.
